Our story

The Habitat First Foundation was founded by Red, Ruby and Rory Paxton, whose family business, Habitat First Group, is responsible for developing UK holiday home communities that share a deep love for mother nature.  

With all three siblings involved in fundraising for a variety of charities over the years, the family decided to set up their own Foundation with the sole purpose of raising a substantial amount of money to help to build a collection of fully accessible holiday homes for underprivileged, ill and disabled children.  

The family will donate plots of land to the Foundation and once enough money has been raised, they will proceed to build the holiday homes. 

Habitat First Group owns Lower Mill Estate, a modern country estate nestled within the Cotswold Water Park and Silverlake, a serene holiday home estate in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex in Dorset. These lakeside estates offer families peace and tranquillity away from the crazy pace of urban life.
